PCE-7B13D-04 Backplane supports PCE-7xxx CPU boards

PCE-5B12D-04 Backplane supports PCE-5xxx CPU boards

If PCE-5127/7127 is used on different backplanes which has different PCIe configuration. Below message would be showed on first time power on, and user has to turn off AC power and then turn on for PCIe re-configuration.

"Caution! PCIe configuration error! Please turn off AC power before re-configuration."

PCE-5127 supports one x16 lane(s) for supporting Advantech backplanes 5BXX series.

Q:

I have the SnomPA1 properly connected to the network; it has an extension registered with the PBX; and the speaker is correctly connected. When I call the extension of the PA1 I hear it do a short ring, then I do an announcement but no sound comes out of the speaker. The SIP trace shows the PA1 registered and it shows the INVITE, RINGING, OK, ACK, and the BYE of the call. The green 'Call' LED is on steady until I call the PA1, then it blinks until I end the call. However, if I push the "IP/Reset" button then a voice is heard through the speaker telling what the IP address of the PA1 is.

U-Boot is a popular bootloader used by many development platforms. It supports multiple architectures including ARM, MIPS, AVR32, Nios, Microblaze, 68K and x86. U-Boot has support for several filesystems as well, including FAT32, ext2, ext3, ext4 and Cramfs built in to it. It also has a shell where it interactively can take input from users, and it supports scripting. It is distributed under the GPLv2 license. U-Boot is a stage-2 bootloader.

The U-Boot project also includes the x-loader. The x-loader is a small stage-1 bootloader for ARM. Most modern chips have the ability to read a FAT32 filesystem built in to the ROM. The x-loader loads the U-Boot into memory and transfers control to it. U-Boot is a pretty advanced bootloader that is capable of loading the kernel and ramdisk image from the NAND, SD card, USB drive and even the Ethernet via bootp, DHCP and TFTP.

Project Properties Build Options

Enable KITL (no Class IMGNOKITL Total, = 1)

Select to enable KITL (Kernel Independent Transport Layer) and to allow communication between the development workstation and the target device for debugging.

Enable Eboot Space in Memory (IMGEBOOT = 1)

Select to reserve memory space in the Config.bib file (Reserve space for the boot loader in ROM). This option adds support for Ethernet debugging by bundling the Ethernet boot loader in the image.

Run-time Image Can be larger than 32MB (IMGRAM64 = 1)

Select to enable a run-time image that requires 32 MB or more of RAM to successfully download to the target device after the run-time image is built.

Platform Builder debugs images only of the type nk.bin, therefore you must first rename all eboot.* filenames to nk.* before attempting to debug eboot. To do this:

1- Create a folder, for example eboot, under the directory C:\WINCE600\OSDesigns\<current solution>\RelDir

2- Open the Solution in Visual Studio, then select View Solution Explorer.

3- In the Solution Explorer window, drop the tree to view the EBOOT node of the current target board. For example C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\<BoardBSP_node>\SRC\BOOTLOADER\EBOOT

4- Right-click on the EBOOT node and select Properties from the context menu to display the window Editing C:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\<BoardBSP>\SRC\BOOTLOADER\EBOOT\sources

5- Access the General tab, change Target .pdb Name and Target Name to eboot, then click OK.

NK.nb0 (SD Card)

- Installing firmware on the NAND flash

Updating the NAND flash is done using the MfgTool.exe tool.

- Upgrading firmware on SD card

The firmware can be updated on a PC with a card reader and the CFImager.exe tool. (eboot.nb0 and NK.nb0)

The MfgTool is a manufacturing tool from Freescale that runs under Windows. It is designed to program firmware to i.MX boards for mass production. Boards are connected via USB and execute the USB/UART (Serial downloader) mode.

CFImager.exe is a host PC tool used to flash boot images (xldr.nb0, eboot.nb0, nk.nb0) and create a FAT partition on SD/MMC cards for i.MX. The tool for i.MX can only flash *.nb0 files. A card reader on the PC is required

Use HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool to format and clean the flash drives and also for creating bootable disks...

1. Use HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool to format Micro SD card.

2. Copy the following files from C:\WINCE600\OSDesigns\???\???\RelDir\???_Release to the root directory of the Micro SD card.

MLO (X-Loader Image - First bootloader for TF card boot)

XLDRSD.nb0 (The initial bootstrap loader is located in a single file called XLDRSD.nb0. The build process creates the MLO file from the XLDRSD.nb0. This file is the SD boot version of xldr.)

XLDRNAND.nb0 (Boot image for NAND updating - First bootloader for NAND flash boot)

EBOOTND.nb0 (Second bootloader for NAND flash boot)

EBOOTSD.nb0 (Ethernet Bootloader image (EBOOTNAND.nb0) - Second bootloader for TF card boot. This file is used with MLO when booting from SD Card)

Using eboot.bin to Boot Windows CE

If you cannot use eboot.bin to load Windows CE from Platform Builder in Visual Studio 2005, please check these:

- Select correct eboot.bin for your board. (\PLATFORM\\SRC\BOOTLoader\eboot\bin\eboot.bin)

- Make sure “Enable eboot space in memory (IMGEBOOT)” in build option of your project is checked.

- Disable firewall in your Windows to make sure BOOTME message from eboot.bin can be received in connectivity setup.

- You can get message from serial port to check eboot.bin running status.

The Embedded Linux Development Kit (ELDK) is used for building the Linux kernel, Linux applications and u-boot.
